Pistachio Cream Bars Recipe

The pistachio cream bars recipe will take you about as close to paradise as you can get. This treat has a buttery crust, topped with a cream cheese and pistachio pudding mixture for an out of this world taste!


Ingredients

Crust:

2 cups all-purpose flour

1/3 cup granulated sugar

2 sticks (1 cup) salted butter, softened


Cream Layer:

1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese, softened

1 cup powdered sugar

1 package (3.4 ounce) pistachio-flavored pudding and pie filling mix

3/4 cup milk

1/2 cup pistachio nuts, coarsely chopped


Hardware

Whisk

2 x medium bowls

13x9-inch baking pan

Mixer


Step 1: Preheat oven to 325 degrees F.

Step 2: In a medium bowl, whisk together flour and sugar.

Step 3: Beat in butter with an electric mixer on medium speed until blended.

Step 4: Press dough onto the bottom of an ungreased 13x9-inch baking pan.

Step 5: Bake 20-25 minutes or until edges are slightly brown. Cool completely, about 30 minutes.

Step 6: In a medium bowl, beat cream cheese and sugar on medium speed until blended.

Step 7: Beat in pistachio pudding mix (dry) and milk.

Step 8: Spread over the top of crust.

Step 9: Sprinkle with chopped pistachio nuts.

Step 10: Refrigerate for 1 hour or until set before cutting into bars.


Makes 36 bars.
